How to call it
The same tool through each route. MCP clients reach it through Strale’s server at https://api.strale.io/mcp; the call below is what the agent sends.
# Needs an API key. max_price_cents caps what this call may cost.
curl -X POST https://api.strale.io/v1/do \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $STRALE_API_KEY" \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \

# an x402 client pays it from your wallet and repeats the request.

Abstracts may be missing or shortened
Many publishers do not supply abstracts to OpenAlex, so `abstract` is often null. Returned abstracts are limited to 800 characters.
What to do instead: Use paper-details with the DOI, or follow landing_page_url / open_access_url for the full text.
Recent papers and citation counts may lag
OpenAlex refreshes from Crossref, PubMed and repositories on a rolling basis; very recent papers may be missing or under-cited.
What to do instead: For preprints of the last few days, use arxiv-search.
